Getting started
How do I compress a video?
Open Squish, tap Choose video and pick a clip. Tap a destination (Email, Discord, WhatsApp, iMessage) or set an exact size, then tap Squish. When it’s done, tap Share or Save to Photos.
Where is my compressed video saved?
The compressed file isn’t saved automatically — you stay in control. After compression, use Save to Photos to add it to your library, or Share to send it straight to Mail, Messages, WhatsApp, Discord, and so on.
What video formats work?
Squish supports the formats your iPhone records and stores — including 4K, HEVC, portrait, and slow-motion. It compresses on-device using Apple’s AVFoundation.
Results
Why didn’t it hit the exact target size?
Squish guarantees it will never exceed your target when it reports success. For some very detailed clips at very small targets, it may not be possible to reach the size without destroying quality — in that case Squish tells you honestly (“Best possible size”) rather than pretending it fit. Try a larger target, or turn on Max Quality if you’d rather keep full resolution.
What is “Max Quality”?
Max Quality (part of Squish Pro) keeps your video’s full original resolution instead of downscaling to help hit small targets. It’s for when quality matters more than squeezing into the smallest size.
Squish Pro
What does Pro cost?
Squish Pro is a one-time $5.99 purchase — no subscription, ever. It unlocks Max Quality (with batch compression coming soon). The core app is always free.
I bought Pro on another device.
Open Settings → Restore purchase (or the Restore button on the upgrade screen). Your Pro unlock is tied to your Apple Account and restores for free.
How do refunds work?
All purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Privacy
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Squish has no servers and never uploads anything. All compression happens on your iPhone. See our Privacy Policy.
Does Squish work offline?
Yes — completely. Squish never needs an internet connection to compress your videos.
