Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Your videos never leave your iPhone. All compression happens on-device, and no video is ever uploaded. The only thing Squish collects is anonymous, aggregated usage analytics — no personal data, and never your videos. This page explains exactly what that means.

The short version

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how Squish is used and to fix problems, the app sends a small number of anonymous, aggregated usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals are limited to coarse product-interaction events, such as:

These events are not linked to your identity, contain no personal information, and never include your videos, filenames, exact file sizes, or any content. TelemetryDeck does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and the data is never used to track you across other apps or services or sold to anyone. In Apple’s App Privacy terms, this is Usage Data → Product Interaction, marked Not Linked to You and Not Used for Tracking.

Information we access (on your device only)

Choosing a video

To select a video, Squish uses Apple’s system video picker. This picker runs in a separate process and hands Squish only the single video you choose. Squish does not request access to your full photo library and cannot see your other photos or videos.

Saving a compressed video

If you tap “Save to Photos,” Squish requests add-only permission to write the compressed file to your library. This permission does not allow Squish to read your existing photos or videos. You can decline and still share the result instead.

App preferences

Your choices (such as the selected destination) are stored locally on your device using standard system storage and never leave it.

Purchases

Squish offers an optional one-time “Squish Pro” unlock. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Squish never sees or receives your payment information. Whether you’ve purchased Pro is verified on-device through Apple’s StoreKit; we do not operate a server and store nothing about your purchase ourselves.

Children’s privacy

Squish is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone. The only data collected is anonymous, non-personal usage analytics as described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
